I’m Not An Expert With All The Answers (Not Yet)

I’m Malika, a full-time working mom, nutrition student, and plant-based experimenter on a mission to build my perfect body, be happy and healthy. I created this blog to share what’s working (and what’s not) as I balance real life with real wellness.

If you’re a busy woman or a mom and you want to get fit, eat fresh plant-based foods, and simplify your health journey without a ton of processed foods or exhausting workout routines: you’re in the right place.

A little bit more about me: I am 40-year-old, mom of an 8-year-old boy and bonus mom to three more amazing kids. My journey with plant-based living began 8 years ago when I noticed that removing dairy and meats from my diet helped eliminate my frequent colds and stuffy nose. I felt much better but something was still missing in my nutrition.

Despite “eating healthy” as a vegan, I did not have the body and energy that I wanted: I start noticing a growing belly pouch, frequent digestion issues, low energy, a foggy skin. I knew something had to shift.

My Experimental Approach

My nutrition journey has taken me through various stages:

1️⃣ Regular Vegan Phase: Relying on regular vegan meals just based on taste with no knowledge on macros and no gym/fitness routines.

2️⃣ Protein-Focused Fitness: Joining Vegan Superhero Academy for guidance but becoming dependent on protein powders and highly processed vegan meats alternatives.

3️⃣ Raw Vegan Exploration: Testing a 100% raw approach but finding it too restrictive for family life.

4️⃣ Current Experiment: Developing my own balanced system incorporating abundant fresh foods, minimal processing, and efficient workouts that fit into my busy life

Why I Created This Blog

As a busy mom and entrepreneur, I couldn’t find guidance that was both:
1. Based on fresh, whole foods (not processed vegan alternatives),
2. Designed for the realities of busy mom life.
So, I decided to become the resource I wished existed, not by presenting perfect solutions but by sharing my ongoing journey of discovery in real time.
I’m not claiming to have all the answers, but I’m documenting every step so you can learn from both my successes and mistakes.

I’m at Stage 1 of my fresh whole food fitness transformation. I’m currently:

  • Experiencing the early benefits of improved digestion and energy
